Financial Planning

At Sherpa Wealth Strategies, we use a unique process called Values-Based Financial Planning™. During our first appointment we'll complete your Financial Road Map® - a conversation during which we'll help you articulate your most deeply held values, IDENTIFY YOUR MOST IMPORTANT GOALS and benchmark your current financial reality. On one sheet of paper you'll see where you are, where you want to be and why.

We don't charge for the Financial Road Map® meeting. It's your chance to see how we work, after which we can decide if it makes sense to do business together.

Once you hire us to create your financial plan, we get to work.

The first steps are to GATHER AND ANALYZE DATA. You'll have brought most of your financial documents to the Financial Road Map™ meeting, but inevitably we'll follow up for more information.

The next step is to CREATE A PLAN. Your financial plan will include:

  • A lifetime cash flow analysis, including up to two alternative scenarios
  • Analysis for your unique goals – education planning, legacy planning or that condo you've always wanted someplace warm
  • A step-by-step plan of action in the following areas:
    • Cash reserves
    • Debt elimination
    • Asset allocation
    • Estate and legacy planning*
    • Income tax planning*
    • Risk management and insurance**

The next step is to IMPLEMENT your plan, because that's where you get all of your results. You might wish thinking about exercise would make you physically fit, but you actually have to go to the gym to get into shape. And you actually have to IMPLEMENT your plan to get results. We can help you implement your plan, or give you guidance to implement it on your own.

Over time, we'll need to MONITOR your plan. Life has a way of throwing us curveballs, and it's important to make sure you're still on track.

Finally, we provide ACCOUNTABILITY to our clients. We'll do our part and we expect you to do yours – make those retirement plan contributions, update your estate plan, meet with your CPA. Most of our clients thank us for the gentle reminders to get things done.

By the way, firm founder Brian K. Stallcop has been a Financial Advisor since 2001 and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ since 2007. Though everybody's situation is unique, chances are pretty good that he's helped a client with a situation similar to yours.

*We're not attorneys or CPAs, but we can identify key issues for discussion with yours. If you don't have a good CPA or attorney, we can refer you to one.

** We can send you to your property-casualty and health insurance agents with a list of issues to address. If you need a new agent, we can refer you to one.
